Beverly Berry
Founder/CEO
The scripture teaches us that to whom much is given, much will be required. Doing the will of God from the heart is Beverly Berry’s mission to bring hope to families and communities caught in the despair of poverty and at the same time letting them know that they are not alone while assuring them that God will always be with them.
Beverly founded Beverly Berry Missions that works in partnership with Grays Hill Full Gospel Deliverance Church of Beaufort, South Carolina. Since the inception of the organization, Beverly has raised funds, paid for the shipping even while battling the countries international customs as well as used her own money to ensure humanitarian mission trips were successful. Relentlessly driven to do God’s will, Beverly collected new and used clothing, shoes, socks, and much needed personal hygiene items from local, online, and regional sources. She has been able to help more than 1,000 families including children in Jamaica; participated in building 10 houses in Malawi, Africa for the less fortunate, and sponsored over 47 Beaufort County area children during the year with school supplies, shoes, clothes, and also toys. Working with the Community of St. Joseph in Savannah, Georgia, she helps to supply much needed items such as shirts, pants and shoes as well as bicycles for the homeless veterans, which were used to help get them to work sites. For more than twenty-five years, Beverly has been giving help and hope to the least among us.
Beverly has received many awards and special honors for her selfless contributions to God’s will to feed the hungry, house the homeless and clothe the naked. Some of her humanitarian accolades are Bamboo Church of Christ of Saint Ann, Jamaica; Habitat for Humanity, Global Village International Homebuilding, Malawi, Africa; Community of St. Joseph (Episcopal Diocese of Georgia), Savannah, Georgia; Coastal Empire Mental Health Center, Home Share Program, Beaufort, South Carolina and many other churches and individuals in need of a helping hand. Additionally, Beverly has retired from Spring Island Club, Okatie, South Carolina, where they still reflect upon her as the heart of their company.
Being a true native of beautiful Beaufort County by the sea, Beverly was born and raised by her grandmother on Hilton Head Island. She was taught at an early age about love, strength, and faithfulness in God. Her grandmother taught her the value of helping the lost, hurting, and impoverished, the rewards of hard work, looking out for the family, giving of herself, and trusting in the Lord for all things.
“Bloom Where You’re Planted.” It is Beverly’s firm belief and desire to empower, assist and excite others to do all that they can to help one another and spread God’s word where they are planted. In Beverly’s words, “The greatest award is making a positive impact on another person’s life that helps them to realize that God's got their back and I am my brother’s keeper.”
Beverly is looking forward and planning for her next mission trip to Jamaica in March 2020 to help the less fortunate and spread the goodness of Jesus Christ. For more information or to help, contact (843) 812-0134 or visit www.beverlyberrymissions.org.
